This meter works great in my garden. I don’t have trouble with light and this lets me know whether to water or not. It also told me that I needed to add acid.

Works well, good value; but the probes are rather fragile.
It's very useful in a garden when you have a drought with a lot of heat. You have to water frequently, but too much water will make the plants rot quickly in the heat. The pH meter is also useful, though you have to leave the probe in wet soil for about 10 minutes to get a meaningful reading (nothing about this in the instructions on the back of the meter; but I've owned other meters like this one).
