Timber Champ Log Splitter Kinetic 7-ton

Update, Dec 18, 2017.Well, It's split around five cords of wood now and it works just as good as when I first fired it up. I built a little trailer for it so that it doesn't fall over when trying to move it over uneven ground. It's the best little splitter I've owned. Quiet and fast.I watched quite a few videos before purchasing this little tool so I was pretty prepared for what it would be able to do. It lives up to the claims made about it. Upon receipt, I opened the box and with the exception of installing the handle it was ready to go. I plugged it into a 20 amp 120v circuit and turned it on. I started with some 12" diameter redwood rounds and it popped through them like butter. Next I tried som Acacia rounds an it was the same thing. Fast and effective. For round three I grabbed some oak that had some twists in it. Made it through most of it just like the other wood. One I needed to do twice. So instead of 2 seconds to split it, it was 4 seconds. Not too shabby. I have about five or six cords to get through so I'll post an update on the other end. First I'm going to mount the splitter up higher on a frame to reduce the bending over involved with it now.

it splits very big logs, but the retractor spring stops after a few logs use. so you have to manually tap the splitting arm to help it retract or reload, but as far as splitting and quickness, it is awsome!

Poor design. rattles your hand when trying to engage ram. Need 4 inches of free travel, reducing length allowed return spring didn't work after first hour. Will not splid any knots in hardwood.

VERY pleased with this log splitter. My husband is even more so! Splits twisted grain easily, and breaks logs into the perfect size for our little wood stove. Wood suppliers seem to think a 1/4 split on a 10" log is plenty good enough. If I was burning in a huge open fireplace, it might be, but it is a struggle to get that to burn in a stove. Since we got this splitter, we've been able to get a burn going, and keep it at a more even temp. The best part is it is so fast, it only takes an hour or two to split a stack into perfect size logs!

Most efficient wood splitter I've ever used... makes my job so much easier! Thank you for making a great product...
