Michelangelo: The Complete Sculpture, Painting, Architecture

This is a beautifully produced book. The text is informative. The art reproduction, particularly of The Sistine Chapel Ceiling, is spectacular. If you've had the opportunity to travel to Italy, and view Michelangelo's beautiful works of art in person, you'll appreciate the reproduced works of arts, the accompanying photographs and text. If you haven't seen these works of art in person, you will also enjoy this book. You will see and understand the Sistine Chapel Ceiling's panels better than when actually standing in the Chapel itself as the panels are a long way up from where you stand and the lighting in the Chapel is fairly dark. You can really see the Sistine Chapel paintings in a way like no other in this wonderful book. The seller, Little Guy Books, provided excellent (and fast) service for this product.

Book was larger than I thought, and it has fold-outs as well. Definitely worth the money if you are interested in Michelangelo and his art.

This is a large format book, but not just a “picture” book.” The biography and description of each of the works shown is excellent. The images included are of excellent quality and it is a great asset in understanding Michelangelo’s works.

Great Book. A must have for art enthusiasts.

I bought this book to go along with the author's course from the Learning Company (Great Courses) and found it a wonderful supplement to that course. Standing alone it is an excellent overview of the breadth of Michaelangelo's career as artist. The plates are marvelous and having seen much of his work in Italy it brought back many fond memories and I learned more than I expected both from the course and the book. It is more than a one time through table top book. Anyone with interest in the subject I think would find this a valuable resource and bring many hours of pleasurable reading and viewing. For those who have the course from the Learning Company you will find that the book follows the course so you can easily use both resources at once.

This is a very good book with very good pictures & text that helps you to see the frescoes of this great master. I am surprised that you may buy it for that low price. The only reason for that that I see is the fact that this book was published many times. I have this book for a few years & bout it as a present to my friends including one in Switzerland & everybody loves them.

Love the book. The pages are good quality and i like the content as well. Read it every now and then while having tea/coffee. The book is big so you will need to set it on a table to read it but worth it :)

This is a wonderful coffee table book! It's large, but it has pictures of all Michelangelo's many contributions. He was a genius and no one even comes close. I have gone to Europe just to trace all of his works. I have taken the course,"The Genius of Michelangelo" by William E. Wallace. This book just follows it completely. I am going back to Italy this fall primarily just to view the works of Michelangelo. He was a genius! And so is William E. Wallace, who has devoted his life to studying Michelangelo. Any book about Michelangelo by William E. Wallace is a treasure! And I have them all! You can't go wrong purchasing a book about Michelangelo written by William E. Wallace!

Beautiful but arrived damaged! Disappointed with price to receive a damaged book

Un libro donde tanto en información como detalle de sus obras está excelente, la impresión, el tamaño del libro y la parte donde vienen las pinturas me fascinó, lamentablemente no hay en español. Continene un apartado de la capilla Sixtina que está maravillosa. Muy recomendable si buscas toda su obra.

ミケランジェロの画集は持っているべきと思い購入。 画集のサイズも程好く写真も鮮明で見やすい。 部分拡大も多く、満足。 値段も安いので一冊あっても損は無いと思います。 ただ彫刻作品の拡大写真はモノクロが多い。 個人的には問題ではないがカラーに拘る人は高い画集を買って下さい。 システィナ礼拝堂天井画はカラーの拡大写真ですが、トレーシングペーパー的な半透けの紙にプリントされています。 少々疑問なので星4つ。色的、見栄え的に損傷はないのですが…ページをめくりづらい。 いずれにしろ写真も綺麗で色もしっかりしてます。 買って損はありません。

This is a beautiful coffee table book, gorgeous colourful pictures, lots of information about Michaelangelo's work, his life, lovely quality paper, I really couldn't wait to receive this book, I was not disappointed, it's a treat for senses.
